Cet itinéraire est conçu pour optimiser votre temps : il commence par le lever du soleil sur Angkor Wat et couvre les trois temples majeurs du complexe.

Préparatifs essentiels

• Pass d'Angkor : achetez votre pass 1 jour en ligne sur le site officiel, ou au guichet la veille au soir.
• Tenue : épaules et genoux couverts, obligatoire. La règle est appliquée strictement.
• Transport : un chauffeur de tuk-tuk pour la journée coûte environ 15 à 25 dollars. Il vous attend à chaque étape.
• Équipement : beaucoup d'eau, crème solaire, anti-moustique, et de petites coupures en dollars ou en riels.

04h30 · Prise en charge et lever du soleil

Rendez-vous avec votre chauffeur à l'hôtel. Direction le bassin réfléchissant d'Angkor Wat pour le lever du soleil, le panorama le plus emblématique du Cambodge.

06h30 · Angkor Wat

Pendant que la foule se disperse, vous entrez dans le temple principal. Bas-reliefs des galeries extérieures, puis montée à la tour centrale, le Bakan, si la file reste raisonnable.

09h00 · Angkor Thom

Arrêt photo à la Porte Sud et sa chaussée bordée de divinités et de démons. Puis le Bayon et ses 216 visages de pierre, la Terrasse des Éléphants et le Baphuon, souvent plus calmes.

12h00 · Déjeuner

Pause près du réservoir de Srah Srang ou au coeur du parc, où plusieurs restaurants servent une bonne cuisine khmère. Une noix de coco fraîche à l'ombre fait beaucoup de bien.

13h30 · Ta Prohm

Le temple repris par la jungle. Les racines géantes des fromagers enlacent les ruines : c'est le site le plus photogénique du parc.

15h30 · Fin du circuit

Retour à Siem Reap pour une douche et un rafraîchissement avant votre soirée.

Conseils d'expert

• Hydratation : il fait très chaud dès 11h00. Buvez régulièrement, pas seulement quand vous avez soif.
• Flexibilité : si la fatigue arrive, sautez un temple secondaire. L'essentiel est le trio Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm.
• Le visage caché : au Bayon, un visage sculpté porte une expression différente de tous les autres. Demandez à votre guide de vous le montrer.

This itinerary is built to make the most of your time. It starts with sunrise over Angkor Wat and covers the three major temples of the complex.

Essential preparation

• Dress code: shoulders and knees covered, no exceptions. The rule is enforced strictly.

The day

04:30 · Pick up and sunrise

Meet your driver at the hotel and head for the reflecting pool at Angkor Wat for sunrise, the most iconic view in Cambodia.

06:30 · Angkor Wat

As the crowd disperses you go inside the main temple. Bas reliefs along the outer galleries, then a climb to the central tower, the Bakan, if the queue is reasonable.

09:00 · Angkor Thom

A photo stop at the South Gate and its causeway lined with gods and demons. Then the Bayon and its 216 stone faces, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Baphuon, usually quieter.

12:00 · Lunch

A break near the Srah Srang reservoir or inside the park, where several restaurants serve good Khmer food. A fresh coconut in the shade helps a lot.

13:30 · Ta Prohm

The temple reclaimed by the jungle. Giant silk cotton roots wrap the ruins, and it is the most photogenic site in the park.

15:30 · End of tour

Back to Siem Reap for a shower and a cold drink before your evening.

Expert tips

• Hydration: it is very hot from 11:00. Drink regularly, not only when you feel thirsty.
• Flexibility: if you tire, skip a secondary temple. The core is Angkor Wat, the Bayon and Ta Prohm.
• The hidden face: at the Bayon one carved face has an expression unlike all the others. Ask your guide to point it out.

Cet itinéraire vous emmène de la frontière laotienne, à Dom Kralor, le long du Mékong à travers Stung Treng et Kratié, puis traverse le pays jusqu'à Siem Reap. Comptez 550 à 600 km au total : un véhicule privé est vivement recommandé.

Jour 1 · De la frontière laotienne à Stung Treng

• Matin : passage de la frontière à Dom Kralor. Ayez votre e-visa ou vos documents de visa à l'arrivée prêts.

This route takes you from the Lao border at Dom Kralor, down the Mekong through Stung Treng and Kratie, then across the country to Siem Reap. Around 550 to 600 km in total, so a private vehicle is strongly advised.

Day 1 · From the Lao border to Stung Treng

• Morning: border crossing at Dom Kralor. Have your e-visa or visa on arrival documents ready.
• Afternoon: arrival in Stung Treng, where the Mekong meets the Sekong river.
• Activities: the local market and a sunset cruise on the Mekong.

Day 2 · Stung Treng to Kratie, the dolphin road

• Morning: drive to Kratie, around two and a half hours.
• Afternoon at the Kampi site: board a traditional boat to watch Irrawaddy dolphins in their own habitat.
• Koh Trong island: a bike ride on this quiet Mekong island, through orchards and villages.
• Evening: dinner by the river facing the sunset.

Day 3 · Kratie to Siem Reap, crossing the country

• Morning: a driving day west, six to seven hours, via Kampong Cham.
• Suggested stop: Kampong Cham, for the bamboo bridge in the dry season or the old temple of Wat Nokor.
• Evening: arrival in Siem Reap and hotel check in.

Day 4 · Preparing and unwinding in Siem Reap

• Morning: rest after the long crossing.
• Afternoon: buy your Angkor pass at the official ticket centre.
• Evening: the Old Market, or the Phare circus show.
